Our primary goal through Trap the Vote is to increase the number of voters amongst young adults of color. We helped to achieve this goal during the 2020 local and federal elections. We educate our mentees on voting history and process, local, state and federal government, and policy level change. We emphasize the connection between voting, public policy and the effects on their lives and future opportunities. Trap the Vote works to reduce the stigma surrounding voting, expand, strengthen and empower our communities to make voting and civic participation a cultural responsibility and tradition. We have a chapter in both Sacramento and Marin City.
